6 February 2019 - The INGV Irpinia headquarters in Grottaminarda hosted the presentation of the software "SIRENS", a new decision support information system for planners and emergency managers designed and implemented in order to anticipate and deal with the impacts due to natural or man-made events. 11 February 2019 - INGV celebrated the International day of women and girls in science, established in 2015 by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly to promote complete and equal access to STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). To learn more click here
20 - 28 February 2019 - The Palermo Section of INGV participated in the 2019 edition of the scientific event “InSign Experience” which throughout the week involved the public of visitors with workshops, conferences and educational courses aimed at promoting scientific communication among young people. 25 February 2019 - The first of the free training events dedicated to teachers of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) of first and second grade secondary schools and held as part of the event took place in Catania "Science School", with which INGV collaborates again this year together with De Agostini Scuola. 28 February 2019 - INGV took part, at the Mugello circuit, in the centenary opening conference of the earthquake that shook Mugello on 29 June 1919. Organized by the Metropolitan City of Florence, the Unions of Municipalities of Mugello and the Municipalities of Valdarno and Valdisieve, with the contribution of the operational structures of the National Civil Protection System, the project sees the participation, in addition to our Institute, also of other research centers such as the National Research Council (CNR) and the Ximeniano Observatory Foundation of Florence, of professional orders and of many voluntary associations.
