L’INGV al Forum Europeo di Protezione Civile per presentare le attività del progetto ARISTOTLE-eENHSP di supporto nella preparazione e nella risposta al rischio da disastri naturali ed eventi meteorologici estremi a livello globale
I prossimi 28 e 29 giugno si terrà a Bruxelles la settima edizione del , l’evento internazionale importante per l’incontro e lo scambio di idee tra professionisti e decisori politici nel campo della protezione civile europea.
Quest’anno il, coordinato dall’Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) insieme all’Istituto Centrale di Meteorologia e Geodinamica austriaco (ZAMG) e finanziato dalla Direzione Generale per la protezione civile e le operazioni di aiuto umanitario europee (DG-ECHO), sarà presente con un suo corner presso il Centro Congressi SQUARE che ospiterà il Forum.
Le conferenze, i workshop e i laboratori della manifestazione si articoleranno intorno a 4 nuclei principali:
> Strenghten Climate Resilience - Prepararsi a eventi meteorologici estremi
> Protect our Citizens - Adattarsi a nuovi rischi
> Europe in the World - Superare i confini geografici
> Embrace Innovation & Digitalisation - Mettere in comune le conoscenze
Il progetto ARISTOTLE, nato come “progetto-pilota” nel 2016, è stato rinnovato con la denominazione attuale ARISTOTLE-eENHSP fino al 2024. Il suo obiettivo è fornire al Centro di coordinamento della risposta alle emergenze (Emergency Response Coordination Centre - ERCC) dell’Unione Europea parere scientifico, 365 giorni all’anno 24 ore su 24, su differenti rischi naturali a livello mondiale: terremoti, tsunami, vulcani, inondazioni, condizioni climatiche estreme e incendi.
“Il progetto ARISTOTLE-eENHSP comprende centri operativi appartenenti a 17 Istituzioni scientifiche europee e due Organizzazioni internazionali operanti nel campo della geofisica e della meteorologia”, spiega Giovanna Forlenza, tecnologo dell’INGV e project manager del progetto. “Con più di 80 attivazioni di emergenza in tutto il mondo e 343 rapporti di monitoraggio sui rischi da disastro naturale emanati negli ultimi quattro anni, ARISTOTLE-eENHSP si è confermato efficace ed efficiente nel supporto alle attività di preparazione e di risposta al rischio da disastri dell’ERCC nell’ambito del sistema europeo di Protezione Civile”.

INGV at the European Civil Protection Forum to present the ARISTOTLE-eENHSP project in support of the preparation and response activities to natural hazards and severe weather events at global scale
The 7th edition of the , the important international event gathering professionals and policy makers in the field of European civil protection, will be held in Brussels on 28 and 29 June.
This year, the , coordinated by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) together with the Central Institute of Meteorology and Geodynamics of Austria (ZAMG) and funded by the Directorate General for European Civil Protection and the European humanitarian aid operations (DG-ECHO), will be present with its own corner at the SQUARE Congress Center which will host the Forum.
The conferences, workshops and laboratories of the event will be organized around 4 main groups:
> Strenghten Climate Resilience - Preparing for extreme weather events
> Protect our Citizens - Adapting to new risks
> Europe in the World – Reaching beyond geographical boundaries
> Embrace Innovation & Digitalization - Pooling our knowledge
The ARISTOTLE project, started as a “pilot project” in 2016, was renewed with the current name ARISTOTLE-eENHSP until 2024. Its goal is to provide the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) of DG-ECHO with scientific expert advice, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, on different natural hazards at global scale: earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, floods, extreme climatic conditions and fires.
“The ARISTOTLE-eENHSP project includes operational centers belonging to 17 European scientific Institutions and two international Organizations operating in the field of geophysics and meteorology”, explains Giovanna Forlenza, technologist at INGV and project manager of the project. “With more than 80 emergency activations worldwide and 343 monitoring reports on natural hazards issued in the last four years, ARISTOTLE-eENHSP has confirmed its efficiency in supporting ERCC’s disaster risk management activities C within the European Civil Protection Mechanism''.
