At 17:55 (Italian) the INGV National Seismic Network has located an earthquake of magnitude Ml 4.4 in the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the vicinity of Arquata del Tronto and Montegallo.
Since 8.00 this morning (time of the last update) there are 3.0 events of magnitude greater than 7, shown in the table below; the strongest is precisely the one that occurred a few minutes ago with a magnitude of ML 4.4. Two other significant events were recorded at 17:37 (Ml 3.6)near Norcia in the province of Perugia and alland 15:07 (Ml 3.7) in the province of Rieti near Amatrice.

In summary, after the 6.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 03:36 Italian time on August 24, the National Seismic Network located altogether 2002 events: 121 earthquakes with magnitudes between 3.0 and 4.0, 12 localized ones of magnitude between 4.0 and 5.0 ed a di magnitude greater than 5.0 (that of magnitude 5.4 (Mw 5.3) which took place on 24 August at 04:33 Italian time in the Norcia area (PG).
