anything but a world map

More than a world map!

A podcast to talk about Earth with INGV researchers.

It's easy to say Earth, but how do you study a planet?

The world is big and complicated. We know little more than the surface, and even that is constantly changing.

How do we explore the depths of the planet? How can we decipher the causes of phenomena so much larger than ourselves, driven by forces we cannot see yet capable of raising mountains and widening oceans?

Researchers from the Bologna Section share their unique perspective on Earth science through a podcast hosted by Lisa Lazzarato of formicablu. Five episodes discuss scientific research and geological time, extremely slow deformations and earthquakes, measuring instruments and flying sensors, signals and noise. The first episode begins on September 26, 2025, during European Researchers' Night. A new episode will air every two weeks. The voices of researchers will tell us about experiments and calculations, observations and analyses, hazards and their perceptions. Five sessions to learn a little more about our planet, and the people who study it.
