It took place in the spaces of the Rome Planetarium la first national screening of the documentary “Einstein Telescope, listening to the Universe beyond the stars” produced by Sardinia Research in collaboration with the 'National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF) andEuropean Gravitational Observatory (EGO).

The documentary, made by VIS - Virtual Immersion in Science e Telesardegna, retraces the events that in February 2016 led to the announcement by international scientific collaborations LIGO e Virgo of the revolutionary discovery of gravitational waves.

A decade after that historic announcement, the international scientific community continues to look to the future of current experiments and the design of next-generation detectors.

In this landscape, Einstein Telescope represents Italian excellence, an ambitious project for the construction of a large infrastructure for the former Sardinian mining site of Sos Enattos, in the province of Nuoro, gravitational wave research in Europe which also theNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) actively participates in activities aimed at the geophysical characterization of the area.

Yesterday's event, another important step in supporting the Italian candidacy to host the future observatory, saw the participation of Gianluigi Consoli, Director General for Internationalization and Communication of the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), Lamberto Maria Moruzzi, Director General for Scientific, Space and Sports Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Anthony Clogs, President of INFN, Roberto Ragazzoni, President of INAF, Fabio Florindo, President of INGV, and Max Carpinelli, Director of EGO.
