One month after the start of the Central Italy sequence, which began with the 6.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the night between 23 and 24 August, the studies of the seismologists and geologists of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) continue.

The sequence in central Italy from 24 August to 23 September at 12

The sequence is still in full swing, albeit with fewer runs (aftershocks) compared to the first two weeks. To date, the INGV National Seismic Network has located a total of about 11500 replicas, in an area that extends for about 40 kilometers in NNO-SSE direction, along the Apennine chain. 200 earthquakes of magnitude between 3.0 and 4.0; 14 localized ones of magnitude between 4.0 and 5.0 edi magnitude greater than 5.0 beyond the main one.

Time course of the seismic sequence from 24 August to 23 September. In blue the first ten days, in yellow the following ten days, in orange the last ten days.

All the data acquired from the seismic and accelerometric networks have been made available to the scientific community for studies and research. The data recorded by the stations of the National Seismic Network (RSN) and by the temporary stations installed after the earthquake are available in the archive EIDA (European Integrated Data Archive). The data accelerometers of the RSN are available in the INGV Strong-Motion database (http://esm.mi.ingv.it). As for the stations of the National Accelerometric Network (RAN) of the DPC, the original data is available on RAN website.
