Since the beginning of the sequence, with the magnitude 6.0 earthquake that occurred at 03:36 Italian time on 24 August, the National Seismic Network of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) has located a total of over 4000 events: 151 earthquakes of magnitude between 3.0 and 4.0; 13 localized ones of magnitude between 4.0 and 5.0 and one of magnitude greater than 5.0 - that of magnitude 5.4 (Mw 5.3) which occurred on 24 August at 04:33 Italian time in the Norcia area
