An earthquake measuring ML 3.9 (preliminary moment magnitude Mw 3.8) occurred this afternoon at 14:15 Italian time (9 June 2017 at 12:15 UTC) in the province of L'Aquila, a few kilometers from Pizzoli, Barete and Capitignano. The epicenter was located by National Seismic Network of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) at a depth of about 13 km.

At the moment (15 pm) 00 other shocks have been located in the area in a few minutes, in addition to the one at 3 pm, with a magnitude between 14 and 15.

According to the questionnaires that have arrived so far on the site http://www.haisentitoilterremoto.it/, this afternoon's earthquake was felt in the city of L'Aquila and in the eastern part of the province and region.
