At 10.55 Italian time on March 28th a seismic event of magnitude Ml 3.6 was located by the National Seismic Network ofIstituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) off the Marche Piceno coast. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers and about ten kilometers from the coast, between the provinces of Fermo and Ascoli Piceno.
At 13.00 there were fifteen recorded events, four of which had a magnitude greater than or equal to 3.0.
