With a rich program of seminars and conferences, INGV participates in the ExpoForum dedicated to space and aerospace research and its applications for society
The appointment with the fourth edition of theEuropean Expo-Forum on the New Space Economy (NSE), organized by the Amaldi Foundation and Fiera Roma in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and sponsored, among others, by theNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).
The great international event, scheduled from 1 to 3 December 2022, will once again see INGV as the protagonist with a rich program of initiatives aimed at the general public and high school students.
The ExpoForum, dedicated to potential of the spatial economy and of the "new space", will involve all those who are interested in this new ecosystem, creating an environment in which the actors of the New Space Economy and the Old Economy can meet to stimulate new collaborations and highlight the already existing possibilities.
INGV's participation in the NSE will also be coordinated this year by Institute's Space Earth Observation Center (COS-INGV), born with the aim of linking and planning the activities of the Organization in the Space and Aerospace sector, as well as encouraging the participation of researchers in the generation of services and products for civil society and other institutions.
The national and international strategic activities that INGV carries out in the space and aerospace sector through the COS are part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and consist in the creation of an infrastructure for the management and accessibility of data and services from space systems and in the promotion of space culture in the geosciences.
INGV will be present at the Expo with one stand to illustrate the activities that the Institute carries out in the space sector. Here visitors will be able to interact with researchers who, with informative flyers, thematic videos, a series of seminars and real technical-scientific demonstrations, will present the main research and service activities based on spatial data analysis and technological development in which the 'INGV is involved. These activities are carried out thanks to the use of observation data from space integrated with the measurements made by ground-based systems, allowing for cutting-edge research on topics related to earthquakes, volcanoes and the environment.
All the information material produced by INGV for the ExpoForum will be available to the public, as well as on the stand at the Fiera di Roma, also on the website of the COS-INGV and the dedicated page on the institutional website of the Institute.
