With reference to the press reports spread in recent days regarding the “Implementation of study and research activities aimed at preparing responses to the requests for investigative and documentary integration VIA83 and VIA84 formulated by the Technical Commission for the Verification of the Environmental Impact VIA/VAS of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE)” National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) clarifies that on 26 September 2024 it was signed with Sapienza University of Rome, through the Department of Earth Sciences, a “Scientific Collaboration Agreement pursuant to art. 15 of Law 241/1990 and subsequent amendments.”, whose Technical Annex clearly specifies that the technical-scientific reports produced following the Agreement are of exclusive responsibility of the authors, even if employed by INGV, with the exclusion of any responsibility of the Institute for their content and use.
Therefore, theThe Institute declares itself totally unrelated to any relationship which, possibly signed by INGV staff, represents only the scientific opinion of the authors, as set out in the Agreement.
