La Irpinia Section of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) opens its doors to the public on the occasion of the anniversary of the disastrous earthquake which shook the Campania and Lucanian territory on the evening of 23 November 1980.
The event, aimed at citizens and primary and secondary school students, aims to increase visitors' awareness of seismic risk and good practices useful for reducing it.

The dissemination path will see INGV researchers accompany students and the general public in a journey into the universe of earthquakes and volcanoes with information panels, interactive exhibits and games aimed at providing useful tools to increase the perception of seismic and volcanic risk.

Presentation of the reissue of the book “Under our feet. Stories of earthquakes, scientists and charlatans” written by the INGV seismologist Alessandro Amato.
Citizens will have the opportunity to submit their curiosities to the Institute's researchers, technicians and technologists in a moment of dialogue and comparison to learn more about earthquakes, increase the perception of seismic risk and acquire the tools useful for its reduction.
It will be possible to follow the live streaming of the presentation of the volume on INGVeventi YouTube channel.
