Friday? 28 November at 11.00 at the Museum of Natural History, Via Roma 79, Calci (Pisa), the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of the Pisa Section inaugurates the photographic exhibition ?Volcanoes - Fascino e Menaccia? that, through the images collected on the occasion of the pi? famous eruptions of recent decades, illustrates the evolution of understanding of volcanoes and the risks associated with them. Volcanoes and their eruptions, although fundamental for the existence of life on Earth, represent one of the most dreaded manifestations of nature. The man ne ? always been attracted by their beauty and their mystery. But ? Only in recent decades that scientists have begun to study and quantify their danger, both locally and globally.
The photo exhibition? curated by Peter Baxter, Clive Oppenheimer and Phillip Ball of the Universit? of Cambridge, in collaboration with Paola Del Carlo, Patrizia Landi, Augusto Neri and Patrizia Pantani of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of the Pisa Section. The inauguration will be attended by Augusto Neri and Peter Baxter.
Sar? It is possible to visit the exhibition from 28 November to 1 March 2015.
