On 15 December the main results of the collaboration between the National Mining Office for Hydrocarbons and Georesources (UNMIG) and the Directorate General for Safety (DGS) of the Ministry of Economic Development with research institutions, universities and bodies will be presented in Milan of the State for the increase of offshore security. The President of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) Carlo Doglioni, will speak on the issue of the results and prospects of Italian research for maximum safety of activities upstream.
Furthermore, the prototype of an innovative system of indicators for upstream security will be presented, made possible by the collaborative commitment, unique of its kind in Italy, of a network strongly desired by DGS UNMIG. The system was created to monitor, through simple numerical indices, the safety of the upstream in the Italian offshore and to improve awareness and knowledge of the quality of the work performed also in the territories.
In this delicate phase of transition towards a "low carbon" economy, we also want to discuss the best tools to ensure maximum respect for the environment and citizens; to this end, a round table is planned during the conference during which representatives of environmental associations, local administrations and companies in the sector will discuss Expectations and perceptions of the conditions for a sustainable development of offshore activities.
