The workshop The Prevention of Seismic Risk in Italy and Japan will be held on Thursday 1 December at 16.00 in the Chamber of Deputies. The President of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) Carlo Doglioni will participate in the works.

The event is organized by the Italy Japan Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Embassy. An opportunity for discussion and sharing in which the two countries, notoriously characterized by high seismicity, field mutual experience and knowledge in the field of disaster prevention and management.

Italian and Japanese teachers and experts will discuss the themes of conservative architecture, seismic construction and the protection and restoration of cultural heritage. This will be followed by the debate on Japan's best practices, which in recent years have developed advanced building and alarm techniques.

Accreditation is required to participate.

Access to the room is permitted until 15.45 pm. For men it is mandatory to wear a jacket and tie.
