Un 5.3 magnitude earthquake it happened this morning, January 18, at 10:25 Italian time in the province of L'Aquila. The municipalities closest to the epicenter are Montereale (AQ), Capitignano (AQ), Campotosto (AQ) and Amatrice (RI). The earthquake was located at a depth of about 9 km.
The seismic event occurred in an area south of the area of the sequence that began on August 24, 2016 in central Italy.
