On June 24th during the 26th General Assembly of the IUGG, Fabio Florindo was appointed new President of the WG-Paleomagnetism of the IAGA (http://www.iugg.org/IAGA/). The position has a duration of 4 years.
Also of recent days is the awarding of the prestigious academic title of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) by the University of Southampton (where he obtained his Ph.D), "in recognition of a substantial and sustained contribution to scientific knowledge .”
