The thirty-sixth General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission (GA - ESC) is scheduled to take place from 2 to 7 September in Malta, at the Mediterranean Conference Center in Valletta. Over seven hundred young researchers and experts from more than sixty countries are taking part in the scientific conference organized by the Department of Geosciences of the University of Malta, among these numerous researchers from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), twenty of whom are also conveners in various work sessions.
The aim of the Assembly, which will open with a tribute to the late Marco Mucciarelli, is to create a meeting place and scientific exchange for all academics and researchers working in the field of seismology and related disciplines, including the analysis of application aspects and social aspects of seismology, such as seismic hazard and risk, seismic engineering, education and awareness, and risk prevention.
The event includes forty-two working sessions and over nine hundred presentations are expected, of which four hundred and ninety-four oral presentations and four hundred and thirty-eight contributions in the poster sessions.
