Today, on the occasion of the PA Social Day, the blog of the Environment Department of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) was born, INGV environment, a tool for disseminating news and experiences related to topics in the world of scientific and technological research dedicated to the study of the Earth system as a whole. These topics range across various disciplines of Geosciences, even very different from each other, and include phenomena that characterize both the fluid part (oceans, atmosphere, outer core) and the solid part (crust, mantle, inner core) of planet Earth.
This blog will provide opportunities for in-depth analysis of natural phenomena (geophysical, geochemical and climatic) that occur on our planet, from the core to the outermost regions of the atmosphere and magnetosphere.
The results obtained in the field of scientific research are fundamental for proposing and stimulating reflections on various issues related to our planet, placing particular emphasis on aspects of public interest. INGV environment it is intended to share our experiences and knowledge, through simple and understandable language, with all those who are interested in phenomena related to the Earth's environment. This blog wants to be a cultural promotion tool available to everyone.
Su INGV environment we will publish the results of many scientific activities conducted within our themes with the description of the fundamental principles that guide the processes characterizing the Earth's environment, analyzed through the disciplines of competence of our Institute. You will find discussion points on the most topical and socially interesting issues but also news on events relating to scientific projects, national and international initiatives in which we participate.
The format follows the experience gained from the blog INGVEarthquakes. The results of our work, to which we dedicate ourselves with passion and which we communicate through specialized channels, will now also be described here.
