Once again this year the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), in Porto Venere, takes part in the Mariperman Trophy, now in its XXX edition (http://www.trofeomariperman.it/). The event will take place from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 June in Le Grazie di Portovenere (SP).
INGV is involved in two of the numerous events included in the event, in particular in the organization of the technical-scientific laboratories for young people "A sea of emotions" (http://www.trofeomariperman.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Laboratori-Programma-4-2017_revML2.pdf) and in the battery regatta IV CSSN Trophy-Research institutions (http://www.trofeomariperman.it/iscrizioni/trofeo-cssn-enti-di-ricerca/). This year, on June 8, the Mariperman Trophy overlaps in time and makes its contribution to World Oceans Day (http://www.worldoceansday.org/, WorldOceansDay - WOD).
WOD is a World Day of Ocean Celebration and Collaboration for a Better Future, and was established in 2008 by the United Nations General Assembly. Ocean Literacy Italy - OLI (http://www.oceanliteracyitalia.it/), headed by UNESCO, adheres to this day with dissemination events spread throughout the national territory, including those organized by INGV (playbill), to promote marine science and raise awareness of the goods and services that the sea provides.
