On Friday 16 and Saturday 17 February, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) will participate in OrvietoScienza 2018 - Fragile Italy can risk become a resource?
At the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo in Orvieto, a team of experts will hold several seminars on risk communication, prevention and risk management as a possible resource.
The event, which was created with the aim of spreading science through educational activities and insights, this year has the seismic, volcanic and hydrogeological risk of the area as its central theme.
The INGV President Carlo Doglioni, the director of the Vesuvius Observatory Francesca Bianco and the seismologist Alessandro Amato will intervene.
For the occasion, INGV will set up a station with a seismic station, where it will be possible to observe on the monitor the path of one's own "earthquake" produced by jumping next to the sensor, and a station with real-time connection with the surveillance room in Rome .
