Fabio Florindo, Research Director of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), has been nominated Fellow of theAmerican Geophysical Union (AGU). Since 1962, the AGU annually selects the 0.1% among its more than 60.000 members distributed in 135 countries, who have made outstanding contributions in the Earth and Space Sciences. This year the ceremony will take place on December 15 in New Orleans during the AGU Fall Meeting.
Graduated in Geology at the University of Rome La Sapienza, Fabio Florindo obtained his Ph.D. in Geophysics at the University of Southampton, UK. In 2015 the same University of Southampton awarded him the title of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) “... in recognition of a substantial and sustained contribution to scientific knowledge in the field of Antarctic Climate Evolution”. In 2019 he was elected member of the Accademia Europaea in the Earth & Cosmic Sciences section. He is currently Editor in Chief of Reviews of Geophysics.
