The fourth edition of Kidsbit, the European Festival on digital creativity dedicated to little digital explorers, kicks off on Saturday 8 June and will take place next weekend in Perugia, with events scheduled at the Galeazzo Alessi Cameral Center and in the National Gallery of Umbria.
Also this year children and their families will be involved in a large "multimedia ecosystem" between interactive art installations, immersive environments between digital and nature, experiments, workshops, games and shows. The central themes of this edition will be the Environment and environmental education, to stimulate reflection on the importance of everyone's small gestures for the delicate ecosystem that surrounds us.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) will participate in Kidsbit with two appointments. On Saturday 8 June Carlo Alberto Brunori, geologist of the Institute, will organize a conference-show entitled "There is Not Planet B" to lead the public to discover the cause-effect relationships between the phenomenon of global warming and the melting of glaciers. On Sunday 9, however, Valerio Lombardo, INGV geologist, will accompany visitors on the "VR Experience", an evocative journey inside the crater of a volcano made possible by augmented reality.
