On Tuesday 30 October 2018, the European Commission adopted the decision implementing EPOS - ERIC. (The European Plate Observing System - European Research Infrastructure Consortium).

EPOS is a European research infrastructure, created to facilitate the integrated use of high quality multidisciplinary data produced by national and transnational monitoring networks. The objective of the infrastructure is to develop new tools capable of providing the fundamental answers to questions regarding geo-hazards and geo-resources, for a better understanding of the planet and of the processes that control tectonics and surface dynamics.

EPOS is the twentieth ERIC established in Europe. This is a milestone for the Implementation Phase of the project and a great success for the entire community involved in the infrastructure.

EPOS ERIC GRANTED BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

Tuesday, October 30, 2018, the European Commission has adopted the EPOS (The European Plate Observing System) ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium) implementing decision.

EPOS is the 20th ERIC established in Europe. This is a fundamental achievement of the EPOS Implementation Phase and a great success for the EPOS Community.
