EMSO ERIC (European Multidisciplinary Seafloor and Water-Column Observatory; European Research Infrastructure Consortium) has opened a selection for the position of Director General of the ERIC who will have to deal with the development of the strategic vision of the observation network; activate strategic partnerships; promote scientific excellence; maximize opportunities for innovation and connection with stakeholders.
The European Multidisciplinary Seabed and Water Column Observatory (EMSO) is a consortium of countries, each of which owns and operates a diverse range of marine research infrastructures in fixed locations to monitor and understand trends and effects of climate change on ecosystems and biodiversity and the evolution of geophysical processes in the marine environment potential causes of risks for the environment and for humans.
The General Manager will have the task of appointing and directing the personnel of the Central Management Office located in Rome and will preside over the Executive Committee.
This figure must possess the following requirements: experience in the field of marine sciences, proven experience in the management of large projects, significant leadership, communication, coordination and public relations skills.

The full-time contract has a duration of three years and is renewable. The expected salary is between 100.000 -130.000 euros per year. Applications must be received by February 15, 2017.
