EmerFor ? the title of a series of meetings for teachers of schools of all levels in the province of L'Aquila, which started on 20 April 2009 with the aim of helping the educational institutions in the resumption of activities? teaching in the areas affected by the earthquake of 6 April.
This project stems from the idea of developing and adapting the training courses of the EDURISK Project to the emergency phase, linking them to the scientific information service on the ongoing seismic sequence, provided by COES (Centro Operativo Emergenza Sismica), the INGV unit at the Di.Coma.C. of Coppito (L'Aquila).
These information and training meetings - aimed at teachers - had the intention of making the phenomenon better understood from a scientific point of view and of providing the resources to deal with its emotional impact. Seismologists and psychologists of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology have illustrated how and why? earthquakes occur and have provided updated information on seismicity? historical and recent of the Italian territory and, in particular, of Abruzzo. They also described the evolution of the 2009 sequence in L'Aquila and proposed some specific tools to the teachers to prepare educational paths and activities? didactics with children and teenagers.
The project ? It was created thanks to the collaboration between the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the Regional School Office for Abruzzo and the Provincial School Office of L'Aquila located in the Non-Commissioned Officers School of the Guardia di Finanza, Coppito (L'Aquila).
