Condolences for the passing of the Hon. Joseph Zamberletti

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) remembers with great gratitude and esteem the Hon. Giuseppe Zamberletti, Government Commissioner for the 1976 seismic emergency in Friuli and for various other crises in the history of Italy in the last 40 years, creator of the National Civil Protection following the seismic events in Friuli and Irpinia in 1980. Al alongside the National Institute of Geophysics (ING), later INGV, has set up the 24-hour seismic surveillance service, aimed at activating the rescue machine in a very short time. The Institute remembers him for his high human and moral qualities spent with the highest competence and dedication in the service of the State, always in support of science as an indispensable tool for the safety of citizens.
