From 20 to 28 February 2019, at the Polididattico complex of the University of Palermo, the Palermo Section of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) will participate in the annual scientific event experience in Segna, with workshops, conferences and educational paths.
The theme of the XII 2019 edition is "Science and Technology: change" with a rich program of appointments.
At the INGV stand you will be able to observe a model of a volcano, with simulations of degassing processes in the magma chamber, a seismograph during seismic monitoring and one of the new generation observatories for underwater environmental monitoring, with projections of audio-visual material which will document its functioning and the deposition phases.
Some volcanic and non-volcanic rocks from Sicily will also be presented and, through a model, the various types of faults will be described.
This year the researchers will be joined by some students of the "Santi Savarino" Scientific High School of Partinico (PA) in the presentation of the Institution's dissemination activities to promote scientific communication among young people.
