On March 23 at 10:30, at the headquarters of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Rome, will take place the awarding of the children who made the drawings for the 2011 school calendar "Scientist too! science and scientists seen by children".
The President of INGV Enzo Boschi, the astrophysicist Paolo De Bernardis, the science journalist Franco Foresta Martin and the physicist and science popularizer Paco Lanciano will take part in the awards ceremony.
The school calendar? an initiative of the Didactic and Scientific Dissemination Laboratory of the INGV, which promotes and implements activities? training and dissemination for schools and for the public in the field of Earth Sciences. The designs of the calendar have been chosen among the most? of 1000 drawings produced by primary school children who participated in the competition organized by INGV on the occasion of XX Week of Scientific and Technological Culture. The theme of the competition offers a starting point to observe what image children have of the world of research, of the work done by scientists and of the potential of the science of the future.
