Coordinate the forecasting and prevention activities of volcanic risk on Etna. This will be discussed on 6 and 7 July at the Regional Department of Civil Protection (DRPC) of Nicolosi, at the conference on emergency planning and management of volcanic risk in the Etna area, organized by the National Council of Geologists (CNG), in collaboration with the Etna Observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV-OE). The following will be present at the event: INGV-OE (Body that constantly monitors the volcano); the National and Regional Departments of Civil Protection (both responsible for the alert systems); the University of Catania and the regional college of Alpine and Volcanological Guides. Then, in a round table dedicated to them, the mayors of the Municipalities that administer the parts of the territory located at the summit of the volcano and of the Metropolitan City of Catania, which deals with the provincial road system of the area, will intervene. On the second day you will have the opportunity to participate in the geoexcursion, organized in collaboration with the Etna cableway and the guides of the GAV Sicilia regional college. During the ascent, together with the conference speakers, geological and operational aspects of the civil protection system, currently in force on the southern slope of Etna, will be focused.
