Il And June 7 8 2025 Will be held at Lerici (SP) la 36th edition of “Clean Seabeds”, the event organized byNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) and Lerici Section of the Italian Naval League on the occasion of World Oceans Day (WOD), World Oceans Day established by the United Nations to raise public awareness of the impact of human actions on seas and oceans.
The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Lerici, will transform the Gulf of La Spezia into a open-air laboratory dedicated to the protection of the sea and the marine environment, involving visitors in theoretical activities, training meetings, conferences, games and concrete actions to clean the seabed by volunteer divers.
On the morning of June 7th, in Piazza Mottino, INGV will organize the conference "Plastic at Sea" together with the Nautical and Divers Centre (CNeS) of the State Police.
June 8th The Institute will involve children and young people in three scientific laboratories organized in the spaces of the Port of Lerici and the Erix Terrace: MEANING, a card game to explore issues related to climate change, The voices of the sea, a sensory laboratory on the importance of underwater acoustics, and MACMAP extension, a board game that simulates a project to study climate change.
In the space dedicated to the laboratories, a show made with the drawings of the children who participated in the training project "Emotions in Art".
