The 3.0 version of ITACA, the Italian accelerometric archive (ITalian ACcelerometric Archive), created by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) in collaboration with the Civil Protection Department (DPC) within the Framework Agreement, has been published 2012-2021.
ITACA 3.0 is the database of the accelerometric recordings of the almost 2.000 earthquakes with a magnitude greater than 3.0 that occurred between 1972 and 2018 in Italy or in neighboring areas with hardships in our country.
This is the result of a process that began in 2007 with the publication of the first version of the database. Since then the archive, in addition to being updated annually, has been equipped with a completely renewed web interface, has been enriched with new and more accurate information and new tools have been introduced for consultation, selection and processing some data.
The primary objective of the systematic collection of accelerometric recordings is to always have updated data available for numerous applications: from the evaluation of the structural behavior of civil works, to the calculation of shaking maps, to the development of programs for calculating the hazard model seismic.
