On Monday 2 July, on the occasion of the opening of the summer season of the Information Centers of Vulcano and Stromboli of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the Head of the Civil Protection Department, Angelo Borrelli, will be in Vulcano and Stromboli to visit the two institute facilities. He was welcomed by INGV President Carlo Doglioni and INGV General Manager Maria Siclari.
The program includes a visit to the “M. Carapezza” of Vulcano and at 11.00 at the information center of Stromboli.
The visit of the Head of Department will also be an opportunity to test the civil protection acoustic warning system. The exercise test of the nine acoustic sirens positioned on Stromboli, Ginostra, Panarea and Milazzo is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
Like every year, from 30 June to 6 October it will be possible to visit the two INGV information centres. Objective: to welcome and inform visitors about Aeolian volcanism and the risks associated with it.
