Friday 8 June, on the occasion of World Ocean Day (WOD), the Naval Technical Museum of La Spezia will host a day dedicated to the sea from 9.00. It was organized by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the Ligurian District of Marine Technologies (DLTM), the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) and the Italian Navy.

The INGV of Porto Venere will be present with MAREOPOLI, a playful moment of study on the theme of the tides aimed at high school students. By playing MAREOPOLI, students will be able to challenge each other on notions of physics and oceanography, reconstructing the historical path of scientific disciplines related to the oceans. The game was tested and fine-tuned by some students of the L. Costa della Spezia high school, during their work experience with INGV. On World Oceans Day (WOD), the same students will speak together with INGV researchers to raise awareness among their peers on the issues of the marine environment and tides.
