Salvatore Stramondo, Director of the Earthquake Department of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), will be part of the Steering Committee of the Einstein Telescope Team in Italy (TETI)., or the Steering Committee which will be responsible for coordinating the activities carried out by the working group, given their complexity, in view of the Italian candidacy to build the Einstein Telescope (ET) gravitational wave observatory in the area of ​​the disused mine of Sos Enattos, in the province of Nuoro.

Specifically, the Team will analyze and study all scientific, technical, environmental, safety, socioeconomic, financial, and legal aspects related to the construction and operation of the research infrastructure, promote and maintain communication with all stakeholders involved in the application process, and contribute to its promotion and formal completion.

The team's work will be coordinated by Giovanni Bisoffi, Chief Technologist at the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), as Coordinator, and by Luca Latronico, Research Director at the INFN, as Deputy Coordinator.

The Steering Committee will be responsible for directing and supervising the working group. It will be chaired by Marco Pallavicini, a member of the INFN Executive Board, and will include, in addition to Salvatore Stramondo, the following members: Roberto Carlin, Director of the INFN Padua Section; Giovanni Passaleva, Director of the INFN Florence Section; and Isabella Pagano, Scientific Director of INAF.

The Italian candidacy to host the Einstein Telescope is supported by the Italian Government, and in particular by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, and is scientifically coordinated by the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) in collaboration with research institutions and universities throughout Italy, in particular the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) and the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).
