From 5 to 7 November it will be held in Paris, at the headquarters of theInstitut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP), the first joint workshop with theNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).
The initiative represents a significant step in the path of scientific cooperation between the two Institutes, consolidated by the signing of the four-year Memorandum of Understanding in 2024, aimed at promoting synergy in fundamental and applied research in the Geosciences, in the development of infrastructure, observation and monitoring systems, as well as in the assessment of natural risks.
The three-day event will feature meetings, conferences, debates, and group work sessions, with researchers, technicians, and specialists from both institutes discussing four research areas: instrumentation and data analysis, volcanology, tectonics and seismology, extreme events and Earth system coupling.
The workshop aims to foster scientific dialogue by encouraging the sharing of knowledge, methodologies, and experiences, in order to develop participatory research objectives and strengthen institutional cooperation.
