Registrations open for the Scientific Diving Summer School, the scientific diving school that will be held, for the third consecutive year, in Panarea (Aeolian Islands) at the ECCSEL-NatLabItaly laboratory from 19 to 27 September.
Organized in collaboration with the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the school is aimed at students, graduates, postgraduates, PhD students in scientific disciplines and professionals involved in the study and management of land and sea.
The educational program includes topics in the biological, geological, chemical and physical fields. The peculiar geological characteristics of the area, its biological component and hydrothermal fluids will be analysed. We will also discuss multiparametric techniques for continuous monitoring and experimental protocols for sampling and studying the ecosystem.
During the dives, the participants will carry out practical activities such as mapping, sampling, visual census techniques and in situ measurements, with reference to the theoretical lessons carried out.
