The temporary exhibition will be inaugurated this afternoon starting at 16 pm in streaming on the Facebook and YouTube channels of the Natural History Museum of Calci (PI). “Plastic and us”, created in collaboration with the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) and the Institute of Marine Sciences of the National Research Council (ISMAR – CNR).
The exhibition, which with the reopening of the Museum will be open until 31 May 2021, addresses the issue of plastic pollution in the sea, a global problem that affects many aspects of our daily life, as well as environmental protection and human health.
The aim of the exhibition, articulated in the suggestive Cetacean Gallery of the Museum, is to invite reflection on man's relationship with plastic, on the damage that plastic can cause to the ecosystem and on what can be done to limit it, as well as presenting relevant data on pollution and some results of the latest research carried out on our beaches.
“Plastic and us” is created with the support of Acque SpA, Geofor and Revet, and with the collaboration of the Municipality of Calci, the Tuscany Region, UniCoop Florence and Toscana Pallets.
