The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) will participate, from 4 to 7 December, at the Mattatoio di Testaccio in Rome (Piazza Orazio Giustiniani, 4), in the sixth edition of Island of Sustainability, the national project curated by the homonymous Social Promotion Association in which Institutions, Research Institutes and Companies meet to educate the new generations on sustainable development.
This year's theme, Acting for the Planet: A Fil rouge discovering flexible, accessible and renewable solutions to allow countries to become cleaner and more resilient economies, with the aim of countering the acceleration of climate change underway.
After the meetings with the high school students of Milan and Terni, the INGV researchers will be at the Sustainability Island with “The Five Vital Signs of the Planet”: a seminar to learn about the signals that tell us about the state of health of the Earth, from greenhouse gas emissions and the increase in temperatures, to the melting of glaciers and the rise in sea levels.
The aim of the event is to bring students, families, sector specialists and civil society closer to the complex issue of sustainability, to understand, through informative talks, virtual realities, simulators and much more, the importance of everyone's role in building a brighter future. green.
