Sunday 8 September, from 9,30, the Geophysical Museum of Duronia (CB) of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (MUGED-INGV) opens its doors again to the public, as the last appointment of this year's summer successes, as part of the event "The mitigated walking along the sheep tracks of Molise".

The day, organized by the proloco of Duronia and the Athena di Roccaspromonte Association, includes, in addition to a guided tour of the Museum, a walk from Duronia to Roccaspromonte along the Lucera - Castel di Sangro sheep track.

Also this year the Geophysical Museum of Duronia was a point of reference for walkers of the twenty-fifth edition of the "Cammina Molise!", an event that combined the cultural and folk traditions of the Molise area with the scientific and popular activities of the INGV. During the extraordinary openings in the month of August, the MUGED, born in 2017 to enhance the Geomagnetic Observatory of Central Italy active in Duronia since 2010, guided over 300 visitors to discover the earth's magnetic field between videos and interactive ludic-educational exhibits .

The INGV researchers presented to the public some of the activities that the Institute carries out on the national territory, including seismic monitoring, of particular interest for the population of one of the Italian areas at greatest seismic risk such as that of the central-southern Apennines . Among seismic laboratories, sand volcanoes and eruption simulations, even the youngest visitors ventured to discover volcanic hazards and best practices to follow before, during and after an earthquake.
