The direct call to the Universities of Italy for student participation has been launched of the scientific faculties in thedissemination activity Information Centers of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) on the Aeolian Islands of Vulcano and Stromboli. The Centers, more commonly called Info point, are designed to deliver information on volcanoes for residents and tourists, on the simplest dynamics of volcanology and on the geology of places visited by hikers. Over the years, the interest in this peculiar dissemination activity of the Institute has steadily grown, both on the part of the communities residing in the archipelago and of the increasingly numerous tourists. Once again this year, INGV has launched the procedure for the selection of universities that intend to have their students from the Science Departments participate in science dissemination activities at the INGV Info Points. Coordinated by experts from the Institute, the field experience in dissemination activities represents a unique training opportunity for the scientists of the future. Attention to the correct dissemination of scientific results, in fact, constitutes the fundamental element for the development of a culture of natural risks and prevention aimed at increasing citizens' awareness.
