 ScienzAperta is back, the great scientific event of the INGV that this year will tell the general public of students and enthusiasts about the research of the Institute in its first 25 years of history

With a'special edition of ScienzAperta, the events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV).

The event, conceived by the INGV to accompany students and enthusiasts in the discovery of the Earth Science, will involve various branches of the Institute and, this year, will be the occasion to tell the story first quarter of a century of an institution of excellence in our country for scientific research in Geosciences.

Numerous activities have been organised with the aim of raising awareness among participants of a conscious approach to the mechanisms that govern our Planet: seminars, games, educational activities, workshops and guided tours for immersive and multidisciplinary learning experiences.

Below are all the ScienzAperta events at INGV.

Milan

from 18th to 21st March | Research Area of ​​Milan | Via Alfonso Corti, 12

Seminars, games and educational workshops to discover the activities of the Milan Section of the INGV on the topic of natural risk prevention and reflect on the importance of knowledge of natural phenomena and good practices to make a difference before, during and after an emergency.

Lerici 

April 4 | ENEA Research Center of Santa Teresa | Pozzuolo di Lerici (SP)

Outreach activities will be dedicated to schools with one-on-one meetings with INGV, CNR and ENEA researchers to understand the Earth system in its facets and seminars aimed at retracing the history of the INGV with particular reference to the Lerici headquarters hosted within the ENEA Center of Santa Teresa. During the event, seminars will be held, aimed at the scientific community, which will explore the origins of the La Spezia headquarters and the technological and scientific development related to the main research topics covered. These include marine prospecting, the Earth's magnetic field and the mitigation of natural risks in support of the local Civil Protection.

Duronia

May 19th and 20th | MUGED - Geophysical Museum of Duronia of the INGV (CB)

Fun and scientific activities, guided tours of the Museum, films and scientific and informative seminars will lead to the discovery of the Earth's magnetosphere, the space shield that preserves life on our Planet by protecting us from cosmic radiation and the solar wind, and will retrace the history of the magnetic observatories developed by the INGV.
