A rich program of workshops, seminars, games, activities and exhibitions will enthrall visitors of all ages on a journey to discover the ocean and its fundamental importance for our planet
From 6 to 8 June 2024 the appointment is backNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) with the “World Oceans Day: Know, Understand, Live Together”, the event that celebrates the World Oceans Day (WOD), established by the United Nations, to raise awareness of the curious and passionate about the impact that human actions have on the ocean, a fundamental resource for the conservation of life on Earth. This year, INGV Day boasts one of the most prestigious awards given in our country, the Medal of the President of the Republic, to establish the appreciation of Head of State Sergio Mattarella for the detail scientific and cultural interest covered by the event curated by the Institute. World Oceans Day, thanks to the participation of Joint Research Unit EMSO Italy and EMSO ERIC, will see INGV once again promoting an initiative that intends to bring together the entire national scientific community involved in the study of the ocean and climate. The event will stop in Palermo, Rome and Lerici with a format in which science and art will immerse visitors in the marine environment, allowing them to learn more about this extraordinary resource of ours and the possible actions to take to contribute to its conservation. Below are the activities planned in the three cities chosen as stages for the 2024 edition.
