To celebrate 20 years since the publication of Seismic Hazard Model for Italy (MPS04),National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) organize a moment of discussion between developers and users. The event, scheduled Tuesday 28 May starting from 14pm at the INGV Section in Milan (CNR research area - Via Alfonso Corti, 12), will be an opportunity to talk about the impact on seismic risk prevention had from a product strongly desired by political decision makers following the earthquake that shook San Giuliano di Puglia (CB) in 2002. For its creation, INGV involved researchers also belonging to other research institutions, with the aim of obtaining a model based on the most advanced scientific knowledge and on the consolidated and most widely adopted calculation methods at a global level, even today point of reference for construction regulations in our country. The Doctor will also be present among the guests who will take part in the meeting Titti Postiglione, Deputy Head of the Civil Protection Department, who will address the issue of communicating complex topics such as seismic hazard estimates to the public.
