With an intense day of study, the meeting "INGV and UNICAL in synergy for the observation of the Earth from space" was held in recent days, organized at the in Arcavacata di Rende (CS)
The day, which saw the participation of Director of the , Riccardo Barberiand Director of, Lucia Margheriti, And the Responsible of , Maria Fabrizia Good morning, saw the presentation of the activities of the institutions with particular reference to the INGV Earth Space Observation Centre.
In this context, the multi-mission satellite data receiving station that INGV installed in the spaces granted by UniCAL, as part of the project and managed by the staff of the Institute's Calabrian headquarters.
THEINGV has an office at the Department of Physics of UniCAL and for over ten years there has been an active synergy established with the PON MASSIMO project (Monitoring in Seismic Areas of SIstemi MOnumentali) dedicated to the monitoring of Cultural Heritage in seismic areas. In the following years, the headquarters' activities increased significantly, including many activities of geophysical and environmental interest which also include close collaboration with the UniCAL Seismology Laboratory.
The Director of the INGV National Earthquake Observatory and the Director of the University Physics Department concluded the meeting by underlining the need to continue to develop relations between the two entities in the various sectors of expertise, also by networking with other university departments and research centers hosted on the Campus of the University of Calabria.
