With a day dedicated to the memory of Enzo Boschi, his legacy and the results of his career are retraced. A moment of sharing knowledge to keep the memory of a great scientist alive.

On 10 October at the headquarters of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), an exciting event was held in memory of Enzo Boschi, a leading figure in the field of seismology and geophysical research.

Enzo Boschi, a prominent personality on the Italian and international scientific scene, has had a long and prestigious career, with significant contributions to the understanding of earthquakes and geophysical phenomena, holding, among other roles, that of President of ING since 1983 and of INGV from 2001 to 2011.

The event was divided into speeches from friends, colleagues and people who shared his passion for science and geophysics, retracing his career as a Professor at the University of Bologna and President of the Institute. The day represented an opportunity to retrace memories and anecdotes that highlighted his dedication to the progress of scientific research and his commitment to communicating the importance of geophysics for the safety and well-being of communities.

One of the most significant moments of the event was the inauguration of a commemorative plaque, placed in the entrance hall of the INGV headquarters in Rome which aims to represent a tribute to Enzo Boschi and his example of dedication which will continue to inspire future generations of scientists and researchers.
