From 1st to 6th October Lacco Ameno (Ischia) hosts the annual conference of the IASPEI/IAVCEI Inter-Associative Commission

The island of Ischia, famous for its natural beauty and its unique geological heritage in the world, is preparing to welcome the prestigious annual conference organized by the Inter-association Commission from 1st to 6th October IASPEI (International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior) e I AVCEI (International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior), in collaboration with theNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV)

The conference will bring together over 40 scientists from all over the world, including internationally renowned seismologists and experts in geophysics applied to volcanoes. The scholars will discuss crucial issues related to seismic danger in volcanic areas and the latest monitoring and analysis technologies.

During the event, in-depth studies relating to volcanoes located in various countries around the world will be presented, thus offering a global overview of the most innovative research in this field.

The choice of the conference venue proposed by INGV, the picturesque Lacco Ameno on the island of Ischia, was welcomed with enthusiasm by the Commission. The decision was motivated by the geological relevance of this territory, which has undergone catastrophic geological events in historical and more recent times.

Bringing the conference to Lacco Ameno will allow participants to deepen their understanding of geological and volcanic processes in the field in an extraordinary and dynamic environment, being able to delve deeper into the volcanic activity of Ischia and the Campi Flegrei also by participating in specific guided excursions.
