Volcanologists gather in Catania to collaborate and improve volcanic safety in Europe

From 19 to 21 September, at the headquarters of the Etna Observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV-OE) in Catania, the 2nd Workshop of the European Volcanological Observatories "Challenges and future prospects for coordinated activities" will be held

Organized by the Volcanic Risk group (Icelandic Meteorological Office - IMO, National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology - INGV, British Geological Survey - BGS, Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut - KNMI, Information and Vigilance Center for Sismovulcânica dos Açores - CIVISA e Institute of Volcanology Investigation and Risk Assessment - IVAR) of the project ARISTOTLE-eENHSP "Enhanced European Natural Hazards Scientific Partnership", the workshop is open to all European Volcanological Observatories and their main international stakeholders.

The aim is to work together to consolidate strategies to strengthen collective planning, preparedness and response capacity to volcanic emergencies at local, national and European levels and on a global scale.
