The days that Roma Capitale dedicates to the Civil Protection of the Capitoline area will be held on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 April in which the institutions and the world of volunteering will meet with the citizens to stimulate responsible behavior in defense of the territory.
The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), part of the National Civil Protection System, will be present with various appointments in which its researchers will bring to the public's attention the research, monitoring and surveillance activities carried out in Italy and beyond only, fundamental for the knowledge of natural risks and the determination of measures for their mitigation.

Saturday April 15th | 9:30 am | Conference room 1
Inauguration of the Days
The President of INGV, prof. Carlo Doglioni, will be present at the inaugural event, together with the other local and national civil protection authorities.
Saturday April 15th | 9:45 - 19:30 | Via dei Cerchi (central pedestrian entrance)
Opening of the INGV Info Point
Information on the seismic and volcanic hazards affecting the Roman area and on the monitoring activities that INGV carries out daily in Italy 24/7. A station will be set up with real-time connection to the INGV Seismic Monitoring and Tsunami Warning Room and a functioning seismic station, connected to a monitor that will allow you to observe the waves originating from the "earthquakes" produced by visitors jumping next to the sensor .

The Two Volcanoes | Educational workshop
Children between 5 and 10 years old, in teams, will build two volcanoes and make them erupt. Thus, they will know the fundamental topics of volcanology and volcanic risk. Children will use and have fun with elements of everyday life and with vinegar, bicarbonate and flour they will reproduce a small volcanic eruption and the difference between an effusive eruption and an explosive one.
Saturday April 15th | 11:00 am | INGV Info Point
Escape Volcano | Educational workshop
Children aged between 11 and 15, organized into teams, will play with INGV researchers on learning about volcanoes, mitigating the risks associated with them as well as protecting the environment.
Players will have to use all their creativity through dynamic and engaging activities to get out of the volcano before the eruption. To reach the crater before the volcano erupts, you have to pass all the tests that will arise: draw, taboo, multiple choice or mime. Be careful, however, that you risk returning to the magma chamber.
