It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Stavros Katsanevas. Our first thoughts go to the family to whom we offer our deepest condolences.
We remember Stavros as the visionary scientist who was able to grasp the link between astroparticle physics and geophysics by initiating a close collaboration between the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) and EGO, the European Gravitational Observatory of which he has been director since 2018 to present.
In addition to his role as a scientist, we will remember Stavros for his passionate dedication to spreading scientific culture through the exploration of unconventional languages such as that of Art.
